Activity as a commissioner:
At the World Conference in Chicago, Miriam Krupkin was appointed as the Israel Lions Commissioner for the years 2017-2018.
The vision was to give emphasis this year to the social issue and formation, in the hope that the Lions members from all the clubs will get to know each other.
The heads of the district were in contact with the clubs and held two mornings of gathering – social.
Active participation of the commissioner in all commission committees.
A commissary fun day was held in Ra’anana Park.
Racholski scholarships – by personally contacting the deans of 2 universities, we came up with the names of the students who deserve to receive the Racholski family scholarship.
By applying personally and not through the student association, we will cover the overhead payment, thus saving 12,000 NIS.
The establishment of a limited forum of Netzelshim, so that they will be the spearhead in strengthening the existing clubs and establishing new clubs.
Due to the heavy costs related to the music competition last year, we did not participate in the music competition at the European Forum.
For the first time in years, we requested and succeeded in lowering the costs of commissions at the “Hapoalim” and “Merchantil” banks.
Repeated training was held on the topic “lazy eye”. All concerned brought the instruments and they were recalibrated.
At the European Forum in Monterey in October 2017, a regional alliance ceremony was held with Lyons Bulgaria, a country that saved all its Jewish residents from the clutches of the Nazis.
This year we made sure that all clubs paid full taxes for all their members.
Instead of participating in the Mediterranean Forum – two music scholarships were donated to children from the periphery. The ceremony was held at Kibbutz Mefalim.
A tender was held regarding a travel company for outgoing youth, and a new agreement was signed with “American Express”.
The Israel Lions delegation participated in the 70th Independence Day celebrations of the State of Israel in Poznań, Poland. The commissioner gave a speech in Polish. It was impressive and exciting.
We will make an exhaustive, rhythmic and catchy video about the image of Lions Israel.
The commissioner is a mentor to 8 female students at the Sharon Division in Ra’anana on the subject of volunteering.
A ceremony was held to welcome the new member.
Personal congratulations on birthdays were sent to all members.
At the annual conference held over the weekend in Nazareth, the following decisions were made:
The conference decides on the organization joining the umbrella organization of the environmental organizations “Life and Environment” at a cost of NIS 300 per year. Upon joining, the cabinet will determine the
Our representative on the organization’s board of directors.
The budget for trips abroad, including to forums, shall not exceed 15% of the total income from membership fees that year. The commissioner’s trip will be fully funded, and the balance will be funded
The travel of the members of the cabinet, according to the decision of the commissioner and with the approval of the cabinet.
Increasing membership taxes to NIS 150 per year
The cancellation of the decision made at the 14th conference in 1975, according to which “for the 4 positions (commissioner and 3 deputies) no more than one representative from the same club will be elected”.
A recommendation by the Commission’s auditor related to the improper administration of a Lyons member will require:
A. A special meeting of the cabinet to discuss the auditor’s recommendation and decide on the actions to be taken.
on. Publication to all Lions members of the auditor’s recommendation and of the cabinet’s decision.
Congratulations to the circle of friends of Lions Israel (to be approved by the committee appointed by Yitzhak Berkowitz), provided that the friends are not members of any Lions club in the previous 3 years.
At the Person of the Year ceremony, they received the award of excellence:
Malki and Kalman Samuels – Peace Project – was awarded for the love of people for their help and support, the establishment of a warm home for the glory of Jerusalem, providing security, sustenance and warmth to people with disabilities, all with the help of donations and will power.
Union and Rescue Organization – awarded for their 24/7 volunteering for every call to save people and all on a full volunteer basis.
Dr. Baruch Levy – for his many years of work and many deeds for the benefit of the State of Israel, its security and society. For his many years of volunteering within the “Team” association – IDF retirees and other organizations.
Summary:
I had a busy year of actions, I participated in meetings for the establishment of new clubs. Among the members of the Lions there was a friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. As the members say: we feel that the Commission is talking to us at eye level.
Every position holder in Lyons brings his/her character to the position, but here it is worth noting that I could not have done this without my cabinet members who went with me all the way and agreed to step out of the box and do special things. I thank you and my colleagues in the cabinet – for the great year. I enjoyed it very much.
I did it my way…
After completing her position as a commissioner, Miriam Krupkin returned to the Ra’anana Dror Club and continued to volunteer at Cafe Europe and for lazy eye detection tests for children in compulsory kindergartens in the city of Ra’anana. Miriam served in the commission as the chairperson of the GST (Global Service Team), a new committee in the International Lions organization, and Miriam had the privilege of designing the new role in Lions Israel.
