At the world conference held in Hamburg, Germany in 2013, Rami Efrati was ordained as Lions Israel District Commissioner, District 128.
Rami received two medals from international presidents and many certificates of appreciation.
Activity as district commissioner:
The main goal Rami had in mind was strengthening the organization, cooperation between the commission and the clubs and strengthening the relationship with the members of the organization.
For this purpose, he emphasized the participation of cabinet members in the Commissioner’s visits to the clubs; teamwork in the cabinet; transparency for all members of the organization; strengthening the clubs and not necessarily new clubs; Strengthening leadership and integrating changers at work.
In addition, he worked vigorously to increase the number of members of the Lions association; He strengthened the ties with the international Lions and increased the scope of the Racholsky Foundation’s activities, within which scholarships of tens of thousands of shekels were distributed to students, while cooperating with the national student union and integrating students into the volunteering of the Lions clubs.
The decisions made at the 54th conference:
1. To add an alternative to the qualifications of a candidate for a third term and establish that even those who have served as chairman of a significant commission committee may present their candidacy for a third term. In the year of their term as a third term, they will be appointed by the incumbent commissioner to the position of head of a region or head of a district.
2. Changing the status of the ethics committee and turning it into a regular commission committee: the district commissioner will appoint the chairman of the committee and the chairman of the committee will choose its members.
3. Establish a fund to pay deductibles in case Lions Israel is responsible for damage to a third party (including the members themselves) in connection with the organization’s activities. The total fund will be about NIS 55,000. The fund will be established from a payment of NIS 10 per year to a member, for five years.
And to sum up this year:
During my term as district commissioner, I saw great importance in the formation of the district cabinet as a body that works in harmony and in cooperation both within it and with the clubs, in strengthening the sense of belonging of the Lions members to Lions Israel and Lions International, in increasing the commitment of each and every member to his club and the organization and in strengthening the ties between Lions Israel and Lions International.
I saw great importance in bringing the name of the Lions to the public consciousness, in strengthening the relationship with commercial companies, who became aware of the activities of Lions Israel and contributed their money to these activities.
After the end of his year as a commissioner, Rami Efrati returned to activity at his club, the Givataim Sr. Club.
